Porcelain Tableware Forms
I believe the fundamental of beauty starts from the simplicity of the form.
Then, by adding layers of decorative elements that suits best to the form, the beauty is maximized to full potential.
This is an on-going exploration of forms and surfaces that are sensual with the use of minimal decoration and to discover gentle harmony among each piece.

What is Project 10.10.?
Project 10.10 is a design initiative to produce Ten custom made bowls for Ten dogs
All those who participated in this project have agreed to support an animal rescue group of their choice instead of paying me for the custom made bowls. A few of the participants were very good friends of mine, while others I've never met before but through this project.
I started this project as a reminder to myself of the reasons why I became a designer and as a reminder to appreciate every moment in life which can be, in many ways, unpredictable.
In a span of two years, my two little dogs passed away, Fucco in 2011 and Coco in 2013. It really struck me hard. After they had been cremated, they were placed in tiny, generic, metal tin cans. I remember how my heart sank when they opened a drawer and gave me that little tin box.
For Fucco, I couldn't do much but to cry - feeling sad, guilty and mad at myself for letting her go so helplessly. So When Coco passed away, I decided to create porcelain urns for the precious remains of my dogs. When I threw the porcelain on the wheel, in some strange way, I began to cope with my loss and began to see things around me with clear vision. I began to realize what was important in my life.
In the winter of 2014, my husband and I finally decided to bring a new puppy to our home. It was not an easy decision. So, in order celebrate bringing our new puppy and do something meaningful not driven by deadlines and profits for myself, I decided to make dog bowls that I never had a chance to do it right before. Ever since I started to work with clay in 2008, I so much wanted to make nice bowls for my dogs. I did make one for Coco in haste when she got diagnosed with lung problem. So, what kept me so long? Same old excuses that I was busy working, dealing with family issues and my own health.
It might be easy to make a few good dollars, but it takes tremendous effort to win someone's heart. Even so, often, it's less likely to succeed. I share my sincere gratitude for your support, for being part of this humble initiative and for saying yes to the project having known little about it in the beginning. Thank you!
